Head Wrestling Coach Tim Brennan
   Coach Brennan started wrestling in New Jersey, and moved to Texas the summer before his senior grduation high school year.  He attended St. Mark's Catholic School in Dallas and set history for them by becoming their first ever Texas State Champion and received Outstanding Wrestler of the Year.  He received a scholarship to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  Tim Brennan was a five year Varsity wrestler earning All-American honors his senior year, thus becoming the first Texas High School wrestler to do so. 

   Upon graduation, Tim accepted the Head Coaching position at his alma mater, St. Mark's.  Durng his tenure, he led the wrestling team to three undefeated seasons with two top three finishes in the State Tournament, coaching three State Champions and three State Runner-up athletes.

   Coach Brennan decided to change careers by joining two well known technology companies--EDS and Oracle.  Prior to his departure, he assisted in the recruitment of Rick Ortega, who won four State titles at El Paso Burgess and continues to be a Texas coaching legend. 

   Coach Brennan is a memeber of both the UT Chattanooga, and Texas Wrestling Halls of Fame and returned to teaching this year.  He is certified to teach Physical Education and History.


Assistant Wrestling Coach Devin Lemons
Coach Devin Lemons was an "All State" in football and basketball at Pampa High School and continued playing football at Texas Tech and then professionally.  He graduated from Texas Tech in graduated from Texas Tech in 2005 with an Exercise Sports Science degree. 

Coach Lemons played outside linebacker for the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and Wahington Redskins.  With his athletic experience and training he brings a great deal to both the wrestling and football programs at Liberty High School.  He is currently an Assistant Football and Wrestling coach and he is excited about the season!

He is married to Nicole and has two wonderful young sons, Gabriel and Christopher. 




Assistant Wrestling Coach Jason Thurston

Assistant Coach Jason Thurston grew up wrestling for hall of famer Tony Policare in Vestal, New York before transferring to wrestle for the number 2 ranked team in Florida (Venice HS) his senior year.  He attended the University of South Florida on a full academic scholarship while also walking on to the USF Track team.  He then transferred to Texas A&M University where he earned a B.S. in Political Science and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.

 After graduation, Coach Thurston accepted a position as an assistant wrestling coach at Waller High School and was moved up to be the Head Wrestling Coach after 1 season.  In the 3 years Coach Thurston led the Waller wrestling program, his girls’ team won 2 District titles, the 2008 Region III title, and 2008 State Duals title.  Coach Thurston was also honored to be voted District 23 and Region III Coach of the Year by his peers in 2008. 

Coach Thurston is happily married to fellow Redhawk teacher Alexis Thurston and both are very excited for the opportunity to teach and coach at Liberty High School.  Go Redhawks!


Assistant Wrestling Coach Kirk Ryan McBride

Assistant Coach Kirk Ryan McBride was born and raised locally in Lewisville, Texas.  McBride graduated from Lewisville High School where he played both football and basketball.   He attended and graduated from Huron University in South Dakota, where he played football.  Last year, he taught at Frisco ISD's Roach Middle School.  He is currently single and his hobbies include playing football, basketball, fishing, traveling, and listening to music.  He loves wrestling because its a physical sport and requires great amounts of mental and physical toughness.  He looks forward to the season.
